Hugh Jackman's Aussie Stockman Diet
How do you get the look of an Australian stockman in the 1940s? Hugh Jackman did it by changing his diet and following a strict regimen of specialised eating and exercise.
"For a year and a half I've been pretty strict on my eating," Jackman told Men's Journal. "The biggest change was that I was eating every three hours."
Jackman followed a diet which entailed the following Bodybuilder's routine:
"Wakes up at four in the morning, has egg whites on dry toast, then goes back to bed so he gets some food in him before he trains at 6 am." Chicken breast was one of the staples of the diet.
Hugh Jackman found himself enjoying the results.
"It's pretty fine eating, I got used to it. And my energy level went through the roof."
Given the physical demands of the role, Nicole Kidman appreciated her co-stars efforts.
"Hugh's amazing because he has such athleticism, He could barely ride at the beginning of the film, but by the end he was a great horseman. He will make Aussie stockmen proud. He brings enormous Aussie charm to the role and this laid-back swagger, which I think hasn't been seen onscreen for a long time, I think Baz brought something very different out of Hugh."
