'Fight Club' director eyes Facebook movie
Oscar-nominated film-maker David Fincher is in talks to direct a Hollywood movie based on the rise of social networking website Facebook, reports say.
Fincher, who earned an Oscar nod for his period romance The Curious Case of Benjamin Button earlier this year, is in advanced negotiations with Columbia Pictures over the possible movie, Daily Variety reported.
The report said a script for the film - The Social Network - has been written by Aaron Sorkin, best known for television series The West Wing and movies including Charlie Wilson's War and A Few Good Men.
Variety reported that the Facebook movie would focus on the evolution of the website from its creation in 2004 by student Mark Zuckerberg into a global phenomenon with more than 200 million members.
Fincher's other film credits include dark crime thriller Seven, Fight Club, and Zodiac.
