Thank God You're Here moving to Seven

Thank God You're Here moving to Seven

Network Ten has been dealt a blow with its popular comedy improvisation TV show Thank God You're Here moving to the Seven Network.

Seven on Tuesday announced that the program, created by Working Dog, would form part of its 2009 line-up.

Shane Bourne, who also appears in the Seven drama City Homicide, will remain as host, the network said.

Judge and co-creator Tom Gleisner said he believed the move would expose them to a new audience.

"Having taken a year off it felt right to try some new things with the show," Gleisner said in a statement.

Seven chief executive David Leckie said he had wanted to do something with Working Dog for years and hoped it would the beginning of a lasting relationship.

"They are the best in the business at what they do and that's why they'll fit in just perfectly at Seven," Leckie said.

Thank God You're Here ran on Ten in 2006 and 2007 and was one of Ten's highest rating programs.

It features celebrities walking through a door into an unknown situation, and then they have to improvise their way through the scene.

Previous guests have included Stephen Curry, Fifi Box, Peter Helliar and Cal Wilson.

Working Dog has had a long running relationship with Ten with shows like The Panel which ran from 1998 until 2004.

Mumbo, who said Shane is being replaced/?He is not! I don't know about a different audience. Same people will be watching mainly.

What if they got everyday people in as well as the "known " to fumble their way through. I think it would add a different dimention, or even use up and coming comedians and give them a chance to shine.

Same old song ....take over a show ,wring it out until it's a shadow of its former self then axe it after a few episodes....That's my prediction.

This is a great show.Seven will double the audience :)) But we need new funny people to take part if we can get some really funny comedians on the show it should be great.

Bring back The Panel any day of the week. Or Big Gig - shows with creative writing and great comedians to deliver the goods. Shane is a drag to watch and while I love Tom on The Panel his 5 minutes of idle summary is really a waste of airspace.

I agree, the show is hilarious especially the first season but some of the comedians are kind of dull and unfunny, if we can get some really funny comedians on the show it should be great.

The show is great. But we need new funny people to take part. Not the same old same old faces.
